You Don’t Have to Earn What You Already Are
I spent a long time trying to earn something that was already mine.
Joy. Belonging. Worth. Peace. I treated them like prizes at the end of a race I could never quite finish. If I gave enough, helped enough, showed up enough, looked right enough, held it together enough, maybe then I would finally feel like I deserved to be here.
Can you feel the exhaustion in that? Just reading it?
That is the exhaustion so many of us are carrying. Not from our circumstances. From the constant inner effort of trying to prove what was never in question.
Joy is not something you earn. It is not something you prove yourself worthy of.
Joy is who you are.

Here is what I want to explore with you today: the difference between giving from love and giving from fear.
Giving from love feels expansive. It comes from a place of fullness. You offer something and you feel more alive for having given it. There is no hidden accounting happening underneath, no quiet voice asking did that count, was that enough, do they see me now? No resentment.
Giving from fear feels different. It comes from a place of lack. You give to fill something, a gap, a doubt, a quiet dread that if you stop giving you might stop mattering. The giving never quite satisfies because it was never really about the giving. It was about the feeling you were hoping the giving would produce.
Most of us have done both. Sometimes in the same hour.
And neither means you are a bad person. It means you are a human one.
When I give to fix myself, it is not truth. It is protection. And I no longer need protection from myself.
The invitation I want to offer you is not to stop giving. Generosity is a beautiful thing. It is one of your gifts.
The invitation is to notice, with curiosity, not judgment, what is underneath the giving. What are you hoping it will produce? What are you afraid will happen if you stop?
Because when you can see the fear underneath the giving, you can begin to give it something it has never received.
Love. Direct, unconditional, unhurried love.
Not love you earned. Not love you performed for. Not love that came after you finally got it right.
Just love. The kind you would give your own child without a second thought.
I release the addiction to the future.
I surrender the need to figure it all out.
What I have suppressed is what has always been true.
Joy. Joy is who I am.
What would change for you today if you believed, really believed, that you didn’t have to earn what you already are?
Sit with that. Let your body answer before your mind does.
That space between the question and the answer? That is where the remembering begins.
Thanks to Judy’s guidance, I’ve rediscovered joy, purpose, and the ability to love my life again. I meditate daily, journal with ease, and wake up grateful each morning. Judy didn’t just help me heal—she gave me the tools to find myself again. I will forever be thankful for her wisdom, compassion, and unwavering support.
Judy, you changed my life, and I’ll never forget it.”
