Relationships

We’ve been focusing on relationships in the Mastermind Group I’m in lately.

Relationships, especially the ones with the people closest to us, can be the most rewarding and the most challenging.

Relationships change over time, and it is good to take inventory and see where they are.

I’ll go more into that in the next few weeks.

This week I wanted to share with you the piece I wrote to my kids for Mother’s Day. I printed it out and put it in a thank you card for them.

From my Momma Heart…

I want to thank you for choosing me to be your mom.

You have taught me some of my greatest lessons in this life.

Thanks for the opportunity to experience the ones that were easy like loving you and the ones that were difficult like letting you go. Although, some days it was the other way around, dependent only on where my focus was.

You have been a part of my greatest joys and greatest sorrows and regrets.

So many things I thought were important while you were growing up have faded away and been replaced with what is important; my love for you.

Tears stream down my cheeks as I think about what I missed because I was too busy or had more important things on my mind; all the things I wish I could go back and do differently.

I sit in all the feels and let them pass through me. I decide that I will no longer allow them to be stuck inside me, leading my life. I let go.

I feel free.

As I release regret, I feel my heart opening, and I realize there is room for something more.

I have room for more love and gratitude for you each moment I live.

A wave of gratitude and humility washes over me as I realize that everything is as it needs to be. We have given each other exactly what we needed; intentionally and unintentionally. I am grateful for who I am becoming and for what I did do.

I am who I am because of all those experiences; we all are.

It took every one of those experiences to be where we are today, and I wouldn’t change who we are.

There is only Love.

Thank you.

When we change the world changes.
