Cocooning: Finding Joy in the Now
September has felt different for me. After a busy August full of activity and connection, I’ve found myself craving quiet, rest, and stillness. It’s been as if the universe tucked me into a cocoon and whispered, “Stay here for a while.” And truthfully, I’ve been loving it.
I’m loving the quiet.
I’m loving the space.
I’m loving the downtime.
At first, I thought I should be “getting back into the swing of things” quickly. But instead, I’ve been allowing myself soften into this season of cocooning; being.
Asking the Big Questions
During this inward time, I’ve been holding space for a few big questions:
What does the universe have for me?
What is Spirit guiding me toward next?
What version of myself am I being invited to step into?
I sense I’m in a transition, but I don’t yet know what the next chapter will look like. And instead of forcing the answers, I’m practicing patience. I’m going inward, being introspective, and opening myself to receive.
We live in a world that teaches us to look outside ourselves for the blueprint of who we’re supposed to be. But what if, instead, we looked within? What if we asked Spirit, God, the universe — whatever word you use — “What do You have for me?” and then simply stayed open to the response?
Presence Over Worry
It’s so easy to get caught in the tug-of-war between past and future. Regrets from yesterday. Worries about tomorrow. The truth is, I can’t control the past. I can’t control the future. All I truly have is this moment.
And here in the now, I’m finding joy.
Here in the now, I’m finding gratitude.
Here in the now, I’m remembering who I am.
When I breathe into this moment, gratitude rises naturally, for what I have, for who I am, and for the quiet unfolding of life as it is.
The Beauty of Cocooning
Cocooning isn’t about hiding. It’s about allowing. It’s about letting the inner work happen before the outer wings are ready to open.
I don’t know exactly what’s coming next. And that’s okay. Right now, my soul is asking me to be present, to listen, and to honor this time of renewal.
Perhaps you’re in your own cocooning season too. If so, I want to remind you: it’s not wasted time. It’s sacred time. The stillness you create now will be the soil for your next blooming.
Cocooning is a gift. It teaches us to trust that transformation happens in the quiet, unseen places and that when the time is right, the wings will spread wide.
Reflection Questions for You
Where in your life are you being invited to rest instead of rush?
What questions can you hold gently, instead of pushing for answers?
How can you bring more gratitude into this moment, exactly as it is?
