Change isn’t always easy, but it’s worth it

Change is never painful, only the resistance to change is painful.

Change isn’t always easy, but it’s possible and it’s worth it.

Our life is always trying to teach us something, especially in the moments we feel the most alive and joyful and the moments that we feel the most irritated. They don’t have to be epic moments, just ones that spark emotion. That emotion is meant to get our attention so we know to either go in the direction of it or make changes in our lives so we can experience more peace and joy.

Fear often holds us back, showing up as procrastination, keeping us in situations, relationships, jobs, that aren’t best for us.

Fear can show up in making excuses why we can’t or won’t change.

When we’re in the middle of big changes, it can be overwhelming. That’s why it’s important to just keep moving forward, baby steps. Just one small new habit can change our lives dramatically. For instance, not hitting the snooze button when the alarm goes off in the morning; totally life changing.

Change is one of the few constants in our lives, it is inevitable.

Why are we so resistant to change even when we want to learn and grow?

Sometimes it’s the fear of the unknown. If I make changes in myself, who will I be? How will others in my life perceive me?

Sometimes it’s fear of failure or success.

Whatever the reasons you have for not wanting change, ask yourself:

What if there is something better?

What if change gets to be full of grace and ease?

What if my thinking determines how I experience things?

What if I’m capable of moving forward?

What if the unknown is where all possibilities are?

What if the resistance is what makes the change painful?

What if I don’t know how to do it, what if I just have to start.

When we change the world changes.
