Has it felt like something was missing in your life?
I spent much of my life searching for the next thing that would make me feel better.
I realize now that the reason I was always looking for something to make me feel happier, more fulfilled, joyful, is that’s our natural state of being.
We find that state of being when we are our authentic selves, not from something outside of ourselves that we acquire or accomplish.
Our purpose in life is to be our most authentic selves. To just be you.
All the pain, struggle, strife, all the difficulty comes from trying to be someone you’re not.
The hardest thing to do is to be someone you’re not.
Most of our training has taught us to do just that so we can fit in, not cause problems, or please someone else.
As I started to look inside for the belonging, love, and connection I longed for, I found freedom. Freedom to Be me.
It’s not always easy to do. Sometimes others in our lives have opinions about who we should be.
Each one of us has our own guidance system and that’s what we’re going against when we’re not our authentic selves. We block the flow of joy, creativity, love, and fulfillment available to us by choosing something or someone else over our own unique guidance.
Surrendering to that guidance leads you to your most authentic self. That doesn’t come with a guarantee that life will always be smooth. It does come with the guarantee that you will always be supported.
Where in your life are you resisting being your authentic self?
Is it a relationship that doesn’t feel like the freedom and joy you long for?
Is it a career that causes you to compromise yourself?
I encourage you to look at the areas in your life that you feel struggle or challenge and ask yourself if you’re being true to yourself, your authentic self.
Ask yourself if the struggle is because somewhere inside you know that you are going against your guidance.
I encourage you to sit in the discomfort and feel your way to your authentic Self.
