Who is your priority?
Have you ever felt like you were going through life knowing there was something more?
You know something’s missing and have no idea what that something might be. You’re tired of struggling to find meaning and purpose in your life.
That’s where I was until I discovered that what was missing was ME.
When I was young, I learned to be a people pleaser, looking for validation from others and anywhere outside myself. That led to struggles setting and maintaining boundaries and struggles with self-worth. I put everyone’s needs before my own.
Then, I blamed them for my unhappiness.
Being at the bottom of our priority list takes a toll on us. We can become bitter and resentful even though we deeply desire to care for and help our loved ones.
If any of this sounds familiar and you’re ready to start experiencing the love and connection you long for in your relationships with yourself and others, I’m here for you.
Your relationship with yourself sets the tone for every other relationship in your life.
It’s THAT important to make yourself your priority.
Like it or not, we teach people how to treat us. Partly because of our boundaries, but mostly by how they see us treating ourselves. Read that again.
People see us say ‘yes’ when we want to say ‘no’. They see us smile when we want to cry. They see us put others needs before ours even when it’s not necessary, so they think it’s no big deal to expect the same.
Putting my needs last is how I was taught to live my life and it became an unconscious pattern.
I have found a different way to live now.
The really cool thing is that because I’m taking care of myself first, I can support others in my life with gratitude. No more resentment or bitterness, only love.
I am able to give to others what I have filled myself with.
When we change the world changes.
