Who are you grateful for?

I always thought that I could do everything on my own. I didn’t want any help from anyone, I didn’t want to owe them. I accomplished and did lots of things in my life during that time, but never had the feeling of gratitude that I do now.

Part of me didn’t think anyone would want to help me or think what I wanted to do was important. That was on me. That was my own feelings of inadequacy and fear of failing and succeeding.

This week I’m focusing on people in my life that I am thankful for. Some have been in my life all my life and some a short time in comparison. They have all had a life-changing effect on me and I am forever grateful.

As I look back on my life, I realize that I didn’t let people help me, it’s not that they didn’t offer to help. I just thought I had to depend only on myself and didn’t want to bother them, I thought they were too busy.

This journey of writing and publishing my first book (yes, I’m ready to start on number two!) has had many unknowns. I would not have been able to do it without help. I had to ask for help and when I accepted and embraced that help, things magically fell into place. I didn’t struggle to do it alone.

When you open up to others supporting you, your life changes in ways you can’t imagine.

I am humbled to tears that so many people are not only helping, but cheering me on as well.

Reach out if you need something, there are people that would love to help. Believe it or not there are people that have been through what you’re going through. You’re not the only one that thinks and feels the way you do. Going through challenges brings us clarity and wisdom, sometimes we just need someone that’s been through it to reassure us that we’ll be fine or give us another perspective.

Who are you grateful for?

Share with the people in your life how you feel about them and that you’re grateful for them.

When we change the world changes.

    Judy,

Have finished my copy of your book. It was an enlightening read. Congrats for having the courage to step forward and do it. Also, want to get a copy of the Gratitude Journal. Keep on writing!
