What brings you joy?
With all the challenges we face today in our fast-paced, ever-changing world, one thing is certain; we are not meant to do it alone. Community and meaningful conversations are necessary to connect and find deeper meaning within ourselves. Sharing with others is a way we can see ourselves more clearly.
After having looked outside of myself for the answers to life’s questions, I started an internal quest for a more meaningful existence. Since then, I have been in the process of unbecoming everything that isn’t really me so I can be who I came here to be.
We must find new ways to navigate through uncertainty and chaos. I believe the answers are inside each of us. I believe that joy is our birthright and when we know who we are that joy shows up in miraculous ways. We no longer need others’ approval or have to do anything to be lovable or loved. Our value is in who we are, not what we achieve or accumulate. Knowing that naturally brings us peace, and in turn, peace is what we put out into the world.
When we know this, we can stand in our own power and not be pulled into unwanted experiences. The drama and chaos lose its appeal. Our inner knowing takes the lead instead, and we use our energy to create the life we not only desire but deserve. By doing this, we also give others permission to live their lives in a way that is in alignment for them; to live full out, not worried about how others might react or what they might think. That is the freedom we were meant to live in; freedom to express ourselves without fear.
So, how do we do this, where do we start?
What if this week we just thought about what brings us joy?
Knowing what lights us up and brings us joy is a great way to find out about ourselves. Our gifts are found in the joy and feelings of bliss we experience when we lose ourselves in them.
It may feel difficult to be joyful with all that’s going on, I get that. I have even felt guilty at times. I can assure you that the greatest thing we can do is to be joyful, which is the highest expression of love; in turn, that’s what we will put out into the world and inspire others to do the same.
When we change the world changes.
