Surround yourself with others that inspire you to be more.
More of whatever you want to be; more kind, more loving, more thoughtful, more prosperous, the list is endless.
I have found that having people in my life that I’m inspired by helps remind me of what I want in my life and how I can get it.
Some relationships take too much work to maintain. Do you have any of those? I sure have had some. Relationships that I put much more effort into consistently than the other person. There are for sure times that we are called to offer more support when the other person is struggling, I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about the person who rarely calls and when they do, they want something.
I was taught to be friends with everyone. I think that’s a great thing, although, I didn’t understand that there are different levels of friendship. We can be kind to someone, and we don’t have to be good friends and spend time with them. Boundaries play an important role in relationships.
Whenever you feel there is a problem with a relationship, what if you took responsibility for looking at it on a deeper level by asking yourself these questions:
- What is my part in this?
- Is there equal respect between both?
- Does this relationship inspire me to be more?
- Does this relationship bring out the best in me?
- What actions am I willing to take to resolve this?
- If the matter cannot be resolved, am I willing to allow this relationship to change?
It can be difficult to let go of relationships and allow them to change. I have found that sometimes it can be better for both people to love each other from afar. Often that’s not the answer we want.
When we want to live our life to the fullest, it’s necessary to pay attention to the people we are in relationships with and make sure we are inspired and inspiring.
When we change the world changes.
