My Camino
The Camino de Santiago is not just a path, but it is a transformational journey.
People walk the Camino for many reasons. Some are grieving the loss of a loved one, some from other major changes in their life, some walk it for spiritual growth.
Walking the Camino hasn’t been something I’ve dreamed of doing for years. I really didn’t know much about it. A year ago my mentor asked me, “If I do a trip to walk the Camino, would you be interested?” And of course, I said yes!
The months of preparation will certainly be worth it as I begin this journey.
I worked to get myself prepared physically and just as important I set intentions for my walk.
Walking the Camino can hold deep spiritual awakenings.
As I spent time journaling and feeling into what I wanted to create during my walk, I thought about the people I would bring with me, in my heart. I brought pictures of them so I would have them close.
Some of them are in Spirit and I know they’ll be close and make their presence known through wisdom they share with me. I hope others will feel the blessings I’m sending them from the Camino.
I set some powerful intentions for my time in Portugal and Spain.
I asked myself, what is it that I want to ‘find’ on my Camino?
My heart whispered; I want to find who I am fully in my power.
What do I want to ‘leave’ on my Camino?
I want to leave my doubts of my worth and fears of my greatness.
What is that going to look like?
I have no idea, I’m all in for trusting the Guidance that I’m given.
I am blessed to have the opportunity to experience this journey with 35 beautiful souls. I am excited to embody the wisdom and guidance from my Camino and share it with others.
I’ve been in Portugal for three days and heading to Sarria tomorrow, where we will begin our walk. We will be walking 111 kilometers in 7 days.
September 7th marks our first day on the trail.
We learned that it is suggested that you clean all the rocks and dirt off your shoes each day after your walk. It is said that doing so will prevent you from bringing the past days with you and allow you a fresh start every day.
The Camino will have many lessons, I’m sure!
When we change the world changes.
