More discipline

I didn’t realize that I had so much to share about discipline.

When I looked at my life I realized that I could be very disciplined with my job, family, friends, volunteering, house work, and many other things that were a part of my life.

Guess where I haven’t been so disciplined?

With ME…

Sometimes we’re called to do things to prepare us for the next phase of our lives, mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Lately I feel like I’m being called in all these directions to make changes.

Let me rephrase that, I’m being called with an it’s time now message. I’ve had whispers for a while that I have dismissed with excuses.

I told myself that drinking two Dr. Peppers a day wasn’t hurting me. Why should I give up something that I loved so much?

Each week when I see my screen time report, I would say it’s because I use my phone for work. While that’s true, I spend more time scrolling than I want.

My trip to Spain to walk the Camino was planned in August of 2023. I kept telling myself that I had lots of time to get ready and waited until March to get more serious about preparing for it.

I haven’t been disciplined in taking time every day to be in joy. I’m too busy is my go-to excuse.

I have always loved that every evening Clint, my husband, goes out to watch the sunset. Taking pictures of the sunset brings him joy.

With all my training for my walk, I’ve been enjoying the sunrise every morning. It also brings me joy to see how excited our dog Millie is to walk every morning. As soon as she sees me put my tennis shoes on, she starts barking with delight!

I don’t always know why my Spirit nudges me in the directions they do. I ‘ve learned that either the time isn’t right for me to know, or I don’t need to know.

That’s where trust comes in.

I’m learning to pay attention sooner to the nudges from my Spirit before the lesson comes in a stronger way. I’ve been hit over the head with the Spiritual 2X4 more times than I want to admit.

One thing I know for sure is that from a Higher Perspective, we’re always being prepared for the next growth opportunity.

I’ve found that when I listen and follow my Guidance, I move with more grace and ease.

That doesn’t mean it’s easy, it means I’ve been able to find purpose.

What are you being called to do?

What small step can you make towards that now?

When we change the world changes.
