How to be intentional with your energy and peace
We’ve been talking about being intentional with our energy and our peace.
I invite you to look at places in your life where you don’t feel peace. Here are a few places that I have heard a lot of talk about lately.
One thing, especially recently, that causes a lot of chaos is watching the news. Hear me out, I’m not saying not to be informed, I’m saying choose carefully where you get your information and make sure it resonates with you. If something doesn’t feel right or seem right, do some more research. Bottom line, limit your news intake.
Maybe use that time instead to meditate, pray, journal, whatever brings you peace.
We’re offered situations that don’t feel peaceful so we can choose peace. Peace doesn’t always magically appear, it’s a choice.
We must have peace within to see it in the world. When we choose peace, we naturally share peace. Can you imagine how the world would change if more of us looked inside and chose peace. The world is not going to wake up one day and be peaceful without us taking responsibility for our own peace.
Spending time with people that are always in drama is another way we are not choosing peace. I understand that some of these people are family and there are occasions that you will be with them. I’m saying that you have a choice to limit that time.
You’re not obligated to take on other’s negative energy. When you’re in a situation with a negative person, don’t encourage them by joining their conversation, just nod your head, take your thoughts somewhere else, and remove yourself as quickly as possible.
Limiting your time or removing yourself from drama is a choice you make to honor yourself. Make it about honoring your needs instead of being upset with the person.
Being in comparison is another place that robs your peace. Social media is the perfect place for this to happen. We’re scrolling along and see someone we don’t know who has the perfect life and we start thinking about all the places where our life is far from perfect.
We judge ourselves and our life with our lens of not enough.
The truth is we have no idea what their life is behind the filters and perfect reels. We don’t know their struggles, and I promise you they have them.
Make a commitment to yourself to be present enough that you notice when your body tells you that you’re uncomfortable and not feeling peaceful when you’re watching the news, scrolling, or with others. Your body will tell you by a feeling in your stomach, tightening of muscles, clenching teeth, it has many ways to get your attention.
We just have to trust it and follow the guidance it’s sharing with us.
When we change the world changes.
