Focus on what you can control

As things in our world can seem unsteady, uncertain, and maybe scary, let’s put our focus on what we can control.

What we can control is our response to others and how we treat ourselves and others.

We can become curious instead of judgmental.

We can disagree and work to find common ground on which to build something better.

No feeling is permanent, and our circumstances aren’t forever.

Our reality and our feelings about it are constantly changing. As we learn more, we have a better understanding and broader vision of things.

We are in control of what we put out into the world.

We are in control of what’s inside us.

Remember, ships don’t sink because of the water around them. Ships sink because of the water that gets inside them.

We make the difference in the world by going inward and trusting our guidance, instead of letting all that is happening around us get inside us and weigh us down.

Take some time this week to get quiet.

Take some time to feel into what you want to contribute to the world.

Take some time to set intentions for yourself and how you want to feel.

Take some time to connect with your Higher Power, whatever you call that, and ask for guidance.

Make peace a priority.

Make kindness a priority.

Make empathy a priority.

Make love a priority for yourself and others and lead with your heart.

When we change the world changes.
