Discernment
We’re talking more about intuition this week. We must learn to discern what is true and right for us.
Discernment: The faculty of discerning; discrimination; acuteness of judgement and understanding; perception.
How do we know that our intuition is real or if we’re making things up in our head?
We must practice being present to what we are feeling. Our body is constantly giving us clues about what is true for us.
Have you ever had an idea that you told yourself was ridiculous and you could never do and at the same time felt excitement in your gut. I have for sure and many times in my life, my head won. I based my decisions on what I thought other’s perception would be, even though I could feel in my body that it was the right thing for me.
I didn’t let that happen when I wrote my book. Even though my head was working overtime, reminding me that I had no formal training, no experience, no idea how to write a book, I could feel in the depth of my soul that writing it would be easier than forever wondering if I could. I had learned to trust my Inner Guidance and knew that there would be a way.
Everything fell magically into place. People and opportunities showed up that I couldn’t have imagined. All this happened in one of the most challenging times in my life and in the world. At the same time felt effortless even though it was time consuming and difficult at times.
Our Spirit guides us to what is true for us not what is true for someone else.
If at any time someone says something that doesn’t feel right for you, it isn’t right for you. Trust that feeling you get in your body. It can be right for them, that’s okay, just pay attention to what your intuition is telling you.
The more you pay attention and give your Spirit the opportunity to be recognized, the stronger your intuition will be.
Honor what you’re feeling instead of letting your mind take over and question, doubt, and dismiss your intuition.
You’re already connected to your Spirit; you just have to practice being present and aware enough to receive the messages.
Take some time to ask for a yes or no answer to something you’ve been thinking about. Get quiet and observe what you’re feeling in your body.
Are you feeling resistance?
What is your head telling you? What do you feel in your body when you notice your thoughts?
Clear your thoughts and pay attention to what you feel when you ask the question. Do you feel calm when you ask if the answer is yes or no? What feels right to you?
We all have intuition and connection to Spirit. Our intuition is as individual as we are. It is for our greatest good. It is not for anyone else; everyone has their own.
Our intuition helps us live our greatest lives by guiding us to express our unique selves in the everyday events and in the extraordinary moments.
That expression of ourselves is our Purpose in life.
The world today can be confusing and feel difficult to maneuver. Remember to check in with your Inner Guidance when you hear things that are in the news or from other people. Is it your truth? Is there something that seems off about it? Pay attention, your body will let you know.
When we change the world changes.
