Connection

In a world where so many things seem unclear and out of control, one thing is certain for me. One thing remains constant.  All I have to do is close my eyes, get quiet, and be present and open and allow the force that created me and is a part of me to guide me.

This part of me has been with me as long as I can remember. No matter how many times throughout my life I thought I could do everything on my own and was sure I knew everything, this Presence stayed quietly by waiting for me to ask for guidance.

In the past, I called on this guidance only when I was desperate; when I had used up all my options and couldn’t think of anything else to do. Then I would say, ‘Pleeeease fix this, I promise I’ll do better’. Even though I ignored my Source – my inner knowing – until I was frantic, guidance always came through when I asked, trusted, and allowed.

I have to say, sometimes my guidance isn’t what I expect. I do know however that every time I trust and follow it, things in my life unfold in miraculous ways. Ways I could have never figured out on my own. Things come together with such grace and ease there could be no doubt I have help. That is a huge contrast from doing it all myself and struggling to figure it out.

Now I start each day in quiet meditation and prayer. I want to feel connected. Throughout the day I ask for guidance in every interaction I have and everything I do. Posting on this blog is a great example of that connection. I felt guided to share thoughts and I said, ‘Ok, it has to be easy and I don’t want to stress over it’. That’s exactly how it is. Every Friday morning I sit at my desk to write. I very rarely know what I’m going to write about until I start typing. I trust that what comes out will inspire others.

You might refer to this Connection as God, Spirit, Source, Creator, Father, The Divine, or many other names. It is the Presence that is in all of us. It is here to help us navigate all areas of our lives. This guidance might come to us in the words of a song, something someone says, a billboard, license plate, or any other seemingly random occurrence that offers clarity on something in our lives.

Our Source is always available to guide us. All the answers are inside. All we have to do is ask for guidance, be present, trust, and allow things to unfold in magical ways.

When we change the world changes.
